Location: L16
We are looking for a caring, motivated Early Years Practitioner to support high‑quality, inclusive care and education for children aged 0–5. You’ll help create a safe, stimulating environment where children can learn and thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality care and learning in line with the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
- Support children’s routines, medical needs and dietary requirements
- Plan and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate activities
- Complete observations, assessments and learning records
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and consistent routines
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety and cleanliness
- Carry out daily risk assessments and report concerns promptly
- Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers
- Support children with SEND and follow individual plans
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion
- Attend training, meetings and supervision sessions
- Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times
Person Specification Essential
- Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare/Early Years qualification
- Experience in an early years setting
- Strong understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding
- Ability to create a safe, inclusive learning environment
- Good communication skills
- Positive, proactive team player
- Ability to observe, assess and plan for children’s development
- Understanding of health and safety and risk assessments
- Clear DBS check (or willngness to allow us to process)
Desirable
- Paediatric First Aid
- SEND or child development training
- Experience mentoring apprentices or students
- Food Hygiene certificate
- Knowledge of approaches like Montessori or Reggio Emilia
- IT skills for recording observations and parent communication
