Nursery Manager 

Location: L16

Pay: £32,000.00 - £35,000.00 per year

Salary: £32,000–£35,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: 4 or 5 days per week

Setting Size: 51 children per day. Team of approx. 14 staff

We are seeking an experienced Nursery Manager to lead the day‑to‑day running of a busy, high‑quality early years setting. You’ll provide strong leadership, ensure excellent standards of care and education, and maintain full compliance with EYFS and safeguarding requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations, staff deployment and statutory ratios
  • Lead recruitment, induction, supervision and performance management
  • Ensure strong safeguarding practice and act as/ support the DSL
  • Deliver and monitor a high‑quality, ambitious curriculum
  • Maintain accurate records, risk assessments and compliance checks
  • Manage budgets, rotas, occupancy, funding claims and nursery administration
  • Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals
  • Promote inclusive practice and support children with SEND
  • Ensure health, safety, hygiene and food standards are consistently met

Requirements

  • Full and relevant Level 3 qualification (or above)
  • Minimum three years’ senior or management experience in early years
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and early years legislation
  • Enhanced DBS and full safer recruitment clearances (or willingness for us to process for you)
  • Paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene (or willingness to complete)
