1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant-Year 6
Location: L25, Liverpool
Hourly Pay: £14.50-£15 + holiday pay 
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am- 3:30pm

We are looking for a calm, patient and supportive SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 6 pupil at a primary school in the L25 area.The pupil has additional needs and behavioural needs, so the successful candidate will need to be confident building positive relationships, setting clear boundaries and providing consistent support throughout the school day.

This role would suit someone who enjoys sport and can use this interest to help engage, motivate and build trust with the pupil. A calm, encouraging and resilient approach will be essential, particularly when supporting behaviour and helping the pupil remain focused and regulated in school.

Key responsibilities:
-Providing 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with SEN and behavioural needs
-Building a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil
-Supporting engagement in lessons and school routines
-Helping the pupil manage behaviour and emotions in a calm, consistent way
-Encouraging positive choices and participation throughout the school day
-Working closely with class staff and the wider school team

The ideal candidate will:

-Have experience supporting children with SEN and/or behavioural needs
-Be calm, patient, reliable and resilient
-Enjoy sport and be able to use this to build rapport with the pupil
-Be confident setting boundaries and supporting positive behaviour
-Have strong communication skills and a nurturing approach
-Be able to work well as part of a school team
