SEN Teaching Assistant – Nursery & SEN Base
Hours: 8:30am-3:15pm- 8.30am-11:30am (Nursery) + afternoons in SEN Provision
Start: ASAP
Location: L11
Contract: Agency
Hourly rate: £14.50-£15 per hour + holiday pay
We are recruiting a caring, resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Nursery and the school’s specialist SEN Base. This role suits someone confident working with children with complex needs and looking for a supportive, well‑structured environment.
About the Role
- Mornings (8:30am–11:30am): 1:1 support for a child in Nursery, helping with communication, routines, early learning and personal care as needed.
- Afternoons: General support in the SEN Base, working alongside experienced staff.
- 2–3pm: Focused 1:1 support for a pupil with complex SEN who is non‑verbal and displays challenging behaviour. Full guidance and strategies will be provided.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting children with SEN or challenging behaviour
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Confidence supporting non‑verbal pupils and delivering personal care
- Ability to follow guidance and work as part of a strong team
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
All applicants must hold an enhanced DBS certificate (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered on the DBS update service. Candidates will be asked to provide a minimum of five years references and successfully pass all safeguarding checks
