EYFS Teaching Assistant – Nursery (Full‑Time)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am–3.30pm
Location: Various school placements
Start: Immediate / Ongoing
Contract: Temporary with potential for long‑term opportunities

Rate of pay: £13.80 + holiday pay

About the Role

We are seeking an EYFS‑trained Teaching Assistant to support a Nursery class within a warm, welcoming primary school setting. The ideal candidate will bring energy, patience, and a nurturing approach to early learning, helping children feel safe, supported, and ready to explore.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting children with early learning, play‑based activities, and daily routines
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparation, and delivery of EYFS curriculum activities
  • Providing 1:1 or small‑group support where needed
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and social development
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Supporting with personal care routines when required
  • Communicating effectively with staff and contributing to the wider EYFS team

What We’re Looking For

  • EYFS training or relevant early years qualification
  • Nursery experience (school or private setting)
  • SEN experience is highly desirable
  • A warm, patient, and child‑centred approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a genuine passion for early years education
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
