Primary purpose of the job:
* To co-ordinate and develop projects and activities in accordance to policies and procedures within the Community Centre
* The provision of Breakfast and afterschool Club for ages 3 -12years and Youth provision for children and young people between the age of 4 – 19 years
* To assist in the initiation, support, development and delivery of a relevant and accessible youth work curriculum for young people (4yrs-19yrs), alongside programmes for older members of the community.
* To assist in the co-ordination of all activities within a safe and stimulating environment, in accordance with the project and/or school policies
Main Duties and Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Work with the Community:
* To work as part of a team in the development and delivery of programmes within the project, working directly with children, young people and others as directed by the Project Manager
* To work closely with parents in encouraging active involvement in providing an early start to child’s play, learning and development
* To involve young people in the planning and running of weekly Youth Club activities and other events, including residential
* To ensure that all legislative requirements are met
* To ensure that safeguarding Policy is adhered to
* To ensure that all activities are designed to meet the needs of all children and young people
* To assist with collection and delivery of children to and from the Centre
* To provide a healthy nutrition meal for children, to promote a good start to the day
* Develop understanding of health issues such as healthy eating, dental hygiene, fitness and exercise
* Assist in providing and supervising safe play activities for children
Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and must be able to supply the names of relevant references.
