We are currently recruiting for a Lead Education Officer for Special Educational Needs to work for one of the Local Authorities. SENCO or Qualified Teacher with SEN experience would be ideal.

To start: Immediately
36 hours per week (9:00am to 5:30pm)
Pay: £18.50 per hour

The successful candidate will need to have experience of:
• Implementing Special Educational Needs Policy and Procedures
• Procedures for identifying and assessing the needs of vulnerable children and young people with SEN
• Writing Education/ Health Care Plans
• Preparing reports clearly and concisely

 Duties include:
• To play a significant role in the quality assurance and development of inclusive provision and practice for individual children and young people with a wide range of SEND
• Prepare, draft and issue Education Health Care Plans with dynamic outcomes, analysing and evaluating a wide range of highly complex and varied professional advice from a variety of multi-agency professionals (collected under the statutory assessment process)
• Take lead responsibility for individual case work for children, young people and adults with SEND for whom the Local Authority is responsible, including the responsibility to lead meetings with parents and attend multi agency meetings
• Commission provision, services and educational placements for children and young people with Statements or EHC Plans
• Work closely with parents and carers at every stage of SEND process
• Liaise with wide range of agencies both within the Local Authority and its partners

Successful candidate will be subject to a DBS Check and must be able to supply the names of relevant references
